Senior Advisers
Ben Greenstone
Ben Greenstone is a Partner at Milltown Partners, where he co-leads the tech policy team. Previously, Ben founded Taso Advisory, a tech policy consultancy, that was acquired by Milltown Partners.
Before founding Taso Advisory, Ben was a civil servant. He worked in a number of departments, finishing his time as an adviser to the tech ministers at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. Ben has also previously been a Policy Fellow at the Centre for Science & Policy at the University of Cambridge.
Dr Hannah Shimko
Dr Hannah Shimko is the Managing Director of the Gift Card and Voucher Association. Hannah has built a career running trade associations, previously as CEO of the Online Dating Association and prior to that as Head of Policy and Comms at the Heritage Alliance. She has spent many years on the coalface of advocacy, lobbying, and public relations, developing constructive relationships with government and media, and founding Women in Tech Policy and Digital Lib Dems. Hannah holds a PhD from the University of Birmingham.
Poppy Wood
Poppy Wood is the Managing Director of Reset.Tech, a global non-profit focused on tackling digital threats to democracy. In 2024, Poppy became Reset's Managing Director, leading organisational strategy, steering Reset.Tech's policy and research agenda, as well as working with partners to help maximise their impact.
Previously, Poppy has led a number of technology advisory businesses, and worked in Downing Street where she was an advisor on public appointments and tech policy.
Research Advisers
Theresa Duemchen
Theresa is an Associate at BCG. She has previously led on UK AI & Cyber policy issues and also advises on matters related to public sector digitisation. She began her career at the German development agency GIZ, contributing to economic cooperation and digital transformation programmes during the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequently worked as a cyber threat intelligence researcher in London where her role involved analysing the patterns of online extremism and providing guidance to clients regarding potential threats to their businesses.
Elliot Jones
Elliot is a Senior Researcher at the Ada Lovelace Institute, where he works on rapid response policy work. At Ada, he has previously led research on the ethics of public service media recommendation systems, vaccine passports and digital contact tracing apps. Elliot has previously been a Researcher at Demos’ Centre for the Analysis of Social Media, working on the Online Safety Bill, and advertising transparency. He was also a 2022 Summer Fellow at the Centre for Governance of AI. He will support NX’s research on AI and data policy.
