Data Use and Access

This Data Policy team are exploring the potential impact of sections of the Government’s Data Use and Access Bill. Their work assesses how the bill’s key provisions, such as changes to government data systems or the Information Commission’s duties, could influence SME business operations, adequacy agreements, and international data flows on both a regulatory and economic level.

Project Team

Sophie Swale (Lead)

Sophie leads the Data Policy team and researches how changing UK data protection legislation will affect both commercial growth and our relationship with the EU. She is currently a History student at the London School of Economics and takes an active interest in the UK policymaking process and in the development of technology and AI.

Narayani Anand

Narayani is an India-qualified lawyer and LLM graduate from the London School of Economics, specialising in IT, Data Laws, and FinTech. She has extensive experience working with businesses in regulated industries at Tier-1 law firms and is passionate about technology regulation, AI governance, and digital infrastructure.

Jonathan Yeboah

Jonathan is a Politics student at Queen Mary’s University and is interested in how politics affects public policymaking. He has previously interned at The Guardian and regularly writes on issues concerning economics, healthcare and AI.
